Happy House Hunting

We most likely found a new place to live until Maci is out of the 'woods'. It's small, two bedroom/one bath. It's right on one of the parks in Sumner. Great place for the kids! Even though it's small, I think it will work. I am excited to be able to stay at home with Maci and Makenzie for a while. Also...from a decorating stand point it will be fun to decorate something new!

Another new thing for me will be to do it completely DIY. I've always enjoyed crafting, repurposing, decorating things but have never been strictly DIY. This will be a challenge to do, but I'm looking forward to it.

I have all I need for decorating, but it's fun to get ideas to redo something that you already have.
I have a sofa and a couple of chairs that I plan on recovering with the dropcloths and maybe some burlap on the backs....will see that is the plan now anyways.

I also have some parsons chairs for the dining room I've been 'meaning' to recover for a while now. Those will need slipcovers also. The nice part about all these slipcovers is that I have the material already...and the supplies, just need the time!

Another thing is that I wont be able to paint the walls (grrrrr!!) so I just plan on adding a few pops of colors in the pillows and art work.

{Paint color BM Amsterdam AF-550...would be great for a couple of furniture pieces)

My sofa would look similar to this (not like we don't know what a white slipcovered sofa looks like)
Lots of whitish candles

I don't want to compromise the style I have now, but in a smaller space we'll need to go a little lighter and a little less!

More to follow!

New Plans....

Since things in our life has changed drastically this past week....it's probably a good thing we didn't buy a house and get locked into anything. Sooooo...since we will still have to move out of the house we are currently living in (with me now not working anymore, our income has...ahem...changed too!) So I will definately be doing the apartment thing for the next few months until Maci's better, and I will be able to work again.

These are kinda for inspiration for me...but if you'd like to look at it too...you're welcome to!!
I have everything for home right now, but I am someone who loves a nicely painted wall. I can't help it.
I'm also one who doens't know how to do anything but with allllot of color! So...all my stuff now?

Yuppers....PAINT!!! I'll just paint my furniture to get the colors I want in my 'temp' living situations...if that makes any sense.

{Check out that fixture!!}

Fun! I always enjoy a good excuse to get to decorating!

The Next Two Years...

Hello everyone! My family recieved some pretty life changing news yesterday. My oldest daughter, Maci, was diagnosed with Acute Leukemia (or A.L.L.) yesterday morning. It's going to be a long process! If you are interested in any updates, or information, I started a blog yesterday to highlight her journey. If you can, please say a few prayers for her. She's gonna need all she can get!

Thank you!!
God Bless You All!!

xoxo

We are now mobile!!

Yup!! I finally figured out how to my blog easier to for you to read on the go! I read blogs regularly and I noticed a few of my faves have enabled their blogs to be read easier on a mobile device....ahhhh! Very nice when all you have for internet access (well like me until recently) is your phone!
I know I know.....I am a little slow at figuring out computers..
So instead of waiting 3 1/2 years while you wait for a blog to load (or any other website content) on your phone...now it's super easy...and this is what it looks like!

Gotta love my screen shot...am still at the ocean with little or no service...it's more of an authentic vacation that way! Though we still have electricity!

We will be going home soon....
Back to the nice warm weather ..
It was beautifully sunny when we got here in Long Beach area Wednesday but pretty much one hour later the fog and clouds came in and have been here since!

Have a great weekend!

Vacationing...and RaNdOmNesS!!

Hello!! We are on vacation as I speak...I mean write!!

My mom took my sister and I (and the kids) for a mini stay at the ocean. It's been relaxing and a nice break. We are staying in a little cabin on the ocean. There's been plenty of refereeing kids, time to read, play and clean :). Lot's of time to dream about house planning and designing!! Speaking of which, we haven't found the perfect house yet, still looking, praying that we find the right one! I think that we've looked at every house listed on the market in the price range and area we want to move to...poor real estate agent!

This last week has been alot of fun. With the holiday, there was a couple extra minutes to spend some family time!

Sunday Josh and I took the girls to downtown Seattle to go up the Spaceneedle (if your Makenzie it's Space Noodle!!)

Snippets of our Fourth of July

My "Miss Sassy" Makenzie July Fourth Sunday (well the 3rd)

A random shoe picture...Makenzie and I

Since we are staying at the beach, I thought I would post some 'inspirational' beach decor. Being here make's me want to decorate a vacation home....ahhh someday!

Check out this chair:

Check out this chandelier {I think I would like to have this in Josh's future nautical office}:

Where we are staying, there is a quite large (for the area) antique store/mall. I took Maci with me and had a look around. They are a little too high priced for me...but oh well it was fun to look...until Maci started her little "Gimme" fits...While we were looking around...there was some pretty interesting things!!
More on that later...For some reason Blogger isn't cooperating with me for downloading all these pictures...
Big plans for this weekend...'shopping' the house for garage sale items...and more organizing..yay!!

Ha! This just randomly popped up (from my antiquing photos)
So shall we call this a 'sneak peak'? lol!

Have a wonderful day!!
